Job Description

BGI is seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst with a PhD background from well-known universities with hands-on experience in bioinformatics analysis. The analyst will be responsible for the development and implementation of various research projects. The analyst will also need to carry out efficient and reliable informatics analysis for articles and publications. This role is based in Shenzhen, China, with the opportunity to travel. BGI provides career opportunities for advancement and rotations to other jobs within the business unit and to other BGI subsidiaries and locations. BGI will work with candidates on work authorization (or work permits) for Shenzhen, China, if the candidate does not already have work authorization for Shenzhen.


  • Perform information analysis, algorithm development, data mining, and software development for various research projects.
  • Conduct Mining and analysis of high-throughput sequencing data.
  • Investigate, develop, and optimize new methods and software packages for bioinformatics analysis.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • PhD in bioinformatics/related areas, or bachelor/master degree with more than 3-year experience in bioinformatics analysis.
  • Skilled in at least one of the following: data processing, R programming, or statistics.
  • Experienced in integration of multi-omics data and have published on scientific journals.
  • Well-trained in research skills with the capacity to carry out advanced research.
